5K and Texas adventure.

The 5K is off and running.  A committee has been formed and the 3 ladies are working very hard to get money donations and gift/merchandise donations together.  Letters to businesses will be in the mail beginning of next week.  Logos have been chosen for the running shirt and Bill Korlath has come up with a logo for some extra shirts that can be purchased and some will be given as door prizes.  Also, Bill has made a new window decal and bumper sticker.  I'm excited about all of this.

This event is very close to my heart and I'm hoping that this year will be as big a hit as last.  Bubba left a legacy in the way he lived  and I want to keep this legacy going by keeping his memory alive.  Giving the laptops to graduating seniors helps with my wish of keeping him with us.  Last year we were going to give ten laptops away but then only 15 kids signed up for the scholarship and I just didn't know how to turn down 5 of Bubba's classmates.  The 5K helped with this.  We raised enough money to be able to give all 15 students a laptop.  Our goal is to give at least 5 laptops every year to graduating seniors from Zimmerman High School.

On another page...Heather Bean and I are on an adventure to Texas together.  Not quite sure what to expect.  We are going to a Grief retreat.  I'm nervous about the unknown of this whole thing and Heather is also.  We have many people lifting us up in prayer and I am thankful for this.  I don't think the pain will ever go away but maybe they can help us in some way.  The retreat is called "Spark of Life".  It is free.  We just had to pay to get there.  We are in Emporia, KS tonight and will arrive in Texas tomorrow evening.  I will try and blog as we go but no promises.  Again, this is all difficult to put out there for you all but I am willing to try.  Thanks for coming on this journey of blogging with me.  LeAnne
